For her new single „My Head & My Heart“ , part of a re-release of said debut album, she interpolates the melody of Russian 90s banger ‘Pesenka’ by Ruki Vverh!, mostly known through cover ‘Around the World’ by German band ATC.
Producers used the insanely catchy melody of the euro dance classic for the verses and wrote new lyrics to it that fit perfectly. The chorus itself is an original and has a strong hook too and a bouncy 90s house vibe.
Ava Max might not be the most original pop star out there, but she certainly fills a void of unapologetic, uncomplicated dance pop with killer hooks. She brings the bangers to us every single time.
